What are the expected results of your knee prosthesis ?

If after 45 days the results are well felt, the best results are observed after a delay of at least 6 months and the artificial knee is really judged 1 year after the operation. However, the improvement can continue during the two years after the operation.

The expected result is painless walking without a cane. The optimal flexion to be achieved is 120° but this can vary greatly depending on the case and the initial pre-operative flexion.

Driving is resumed after 1 month. Professional activities are generally resumed after 2 to 3 months (very variable depending on the profession and cases).

Physical activities are allowed after several months. They depend on the physical level of the patient and must be validated with your surgeon.
The lifespan of a total knee prosthesis is currently a minimum of 15 years in the absence of complications; however, premature wear or loosening of one of the parts can sometimes occur within a shorter period of time.
